Do I need a specific type of charger for my EV?
Most modern EVs in the UK use a Type 2 connector for AC charging (home and workplace) and CCS for rapid DC charging. All the chargers we install are Type 2 compatible, which covers the vast majority of vehicles including Tesla, BMW, VW, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan Leaf (2018+), and more.

How long does it take to charge my car at home?
With a standard 7kW home charger, most EVs fully charge overnight (roughly 6-8 hours for an average battery). Charging speed depends on your car’s battery size and onboard charger — we can advise on expected times for your specific model during your survey.

How much does it cost to charge an EV at home vs public chargers?
Home charging is typically the cheapest option, especially on an off-peak EV energy tariff. Public rapid chargers cost more per kWh due to the convenience and speed they offer. Charging at home overnight can cost a fraction of the price of public charging.
Do you install chargers for apartment blocks?
Yes, we install chargers for apartments, flats, and multi-occupancy buildings. These often require landlord or freeholder permission and may need shared metering arrangements. We handle the full survey and paperwork.
Can I schedule charging for off-peak electricity rates?
Yes — all the smart chargers we install support scheduled charging, letting you set charging times to align with cheaper off-peak tariffs from your energy supplier.
Will using an EV charger increase my energy bills significantly?
It will increase your electricity usage, but many customers offset this by switching to an EV-specific tariff with cheap overnight rates, which often works out cheaper than previous petrol/diesel costs per mile.

Yes — all the smart chargers we install support scheduled charging, letting you set charging times to align with cheaper off-peak tariffs from your energy supplier.

Yes, when installed correctly by a qualified professional. All our installations are NICEIC-compliant, fully building-regulated, and pressure-tested, with built-in safety features like earth fault protection.
How much does a home EV charger installation cost?
Our fully installed home chargers start from £799 including standard installation. Prices vary depending on the charger model, cable run length, and whether any electrical upgrades are needed. Every quote is fixed-price with no hidden extras.
What is the OZEV grant and am I eligible?
The OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant offers up to £500 towards the cost of a home charger (increased from £350 as of 1 April 2026) for residents and landlords. However, only renters, flat owners/leaseholders, and landlords qualify — standard homeowners in detached or semi-detached houses are no longer eligible, having been removed from the scheme in 2022. You must use an OZEV-authorised installer to claim it, and installation cannot begin until OZEV confirms your eligibility.
Is the OZEV grant available for commercial properties?
Yes — businesses can apply through the Workplace Charging Scheme, which increased its maximum grant rate from £350 to £500 per socket on 1 April 2026. Landlords installing chargers at rental properties can also claim through the Flats and Renters or Residential Landlord Chargepoint Grant, worth up to £500 per socket
Are there any hidden fees or extra charges after the quote?
No — every quote we provide is fixed-price. The only exception is if unexpected electrical work is required once we’re on site (e.g. a fuse board upgrade), which we’ll always confirm with you before proceeding.
